| Description of Mark | The mark consists of The Made in California mark is housed in a rectangle, with the horizontal length longer than the vertical length. The largest element of the mark is a walking bear facing to the right and with all four feet on the same level; the bear is stylized to look three-dimensional and evoke a 3D print model. To the right of the bear’s head are the words MADE IN in all capital letters, with a star superimposed over the top half of the A. The star is styled after the single star seen on the California state flag. The letters are roughly half the height of the image of the bear; there is therefore unused space in the upper right-hand corner of the mark. Underneath the bear and the words “MADE IN” is the word CALIFORNIA, also in capital letters. The CA letters are slightly larger and nearly touch the bottom of the bear’s feet; this is a reference to the postal abbreviation for the state. The letter A and the letter L are therefore not the same height, but the bottom of the L is slightly superimposed over the right foot of the A to provide continuity between the letters. |

The program is administered on behalf of the state by the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) within the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). The Made in California program promotes awareness of California's ranking as the leading state for manufacturing jobs and firms. The program is open to all manufacturers in California whose products meet the eligibility requirement of being at least 51% "Substantially Made" in California, meaning that at least 51% of the product's total wholesale value derives from manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or production occurring in California to create a recognizable product. The mark is used by CalOSBA and GO-Biz to promote awareness of the Made in California labeling program.
