| Description of Mark | The mark consists of The mark is the symbol of the Kenpo style of martial art, as practiced in the Parker/Planas Lineage. The mark is a one-dimensional, ten-sided shield with a border and black interior, overlaid with images. The top of the shield is convex and the sides concave. At the bottom right and left corners of the shield are short, straight lines, connecting to a concave border on both the left and right sides of the shield. Approximately 1/3 of the way across the bottom of the shield, the border on both the right and left flare downward in a concave fashion and create a narrow bottom of the shield, capped by a convex border. Within the bottom, narrow section of the shield a letter "K", in a stylized font. At the base of the main shield section, centered above the K and spanning approximately one-half the width of the main shield section, is a short blade. The short blade has a curved handle on the left, pointingdownward, and a double-edged blade on the right. A cross-hair is centered above the short blade. Two martial arts weapons form a centered X over the top of the crosshair, the ends of which extend beyond the crosshair but not to the edges of the shield. The weapon on the bottom is a martial arts pole, also known as an escrima stick, with one end pointing toward the bottom left corner of the main shield section, and the other end pointing to the top right. Overlaid on top of the stick is a long sword. The tip of the sword points toward the top, left section of the shield. The sword has a two tone handle that is curved at the end and pointed downward in the bottom right corner of the main shield, just to the right of and above the tip of the short blade below. The blade of the long sword is not straight but is slightly wavy throughout its length. The escrima stick and long blade form an X over the crosshair, with target markers equally spaced between the empty spaces between the stick and sword. The short blade is directly below the bottom ends of the X formed by the stick and sword and so forms an open triangle above the K. |
