A five point star appears to the left and to the right of the year "1821". A shield appears inside the innermost circle, with a horizontal line divided the shield into two sections. In the top section is the image of an open book with wording in Greek. The English translation of the words on the pages of the book is as follows: "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men." In the bottom section is the image of a bust of George Washington, facing towards the left, and inside a circle. The word "NOBIS" appears horizontally above the shield, the word "DEUS" appears vertically, from bottom to top, to the left of the shield, and the word "FIDUCIA" appears vertically, from top to bottom, to the right of the shield, all in upper case lettering. The English translation of the Latin words, "DEUS NOBIS FIDUCIA" is as follows: "GOD IS OUR TRUST". |
