The cheeks of the axes are red with dark red shadowing. The bits of the axes are gray with dark gray shadowing. The Maltese cross and axe designs are on a blue background, which forms the center of a badge. The top section of the badge features the stylized wording "SAN MARCOS" in white, on a red background. The bottom section of the badge features the stylized wording "FIRE DEPARTMENT" in white, on a red background. The left and right sections of the badge are mirror images of one another and feature red and white striping below white stars on a blue background, the aforementioned stylized in the likeness of the American flag.
