Certification Mark Statement | The certification mark, as intended to be used by authorized persons, is intended to certify PRINCIPLES ON THE GRANTING, USE AND REVOCATION OF THE CERTIFICATION MARK "PROFIT FREE". 1. The certification mark "Profit Free" is granted by the rightholder of the mark (initially Mr. Alain Araw, leaving open the assignation to the Profit Free Organization under control of the initial rightholder). 2. The certification mark "Profit Free" shall be granted to Selected Third Parties to be used in connection to some of their products or services. The full amount of the price paid by the customer for these specific products and services (once deducted the manufacturing, distribution and administrative costs) shall be allocated to non-profit activities of the Selected Beneficiaries, channeled trough the Profit Free Organization. 3. The certification mark "Profit Free" shall be used only for a limited period of time (always between one and twelve months) by the Selected Third Parties. The end of the specific period of use shall be indicated on the notices, wrappings and documents related to the marked products and services by the Selected Third Parties. 4. Only legal entities that strictly comply with the "Profit Free" Code of Behaviour shall become "Selected Third Parties" and be authorized to use the certification mark "Profit Free" under the terms described herein. The Code imposes a series of requirements to the Selected Third Parties regarding the type of products and services, turnover, approach to humanitarian activities, management policies and other corporate features. All these requirements are intended to ensure that the Selected Third Parties are companies with a strong commitment to improve the life and working conditions of the mankind worldwide, not only in terms of investing in solidarity, but also showing a similar approach in their daily business activities. Companies that generate environmental risks, or those that make unfair use of women and children as workforce, shall not be eligible. Non-fulfillment of the terms under which the certification mark was granted, even temporary and partial ones, cause the immediate and non-recoverable disqualification of the Selected Third Party responsible of the default. 5. Upon disqualification of a Selected Third Party, the non-complying party obliges itself to remove the "Profit Free" marks from all the items linked to the products and services covered by a "Profit Free" Programme and to inform customers in a proper and straightforward manner about the end of the Programme. 6. Profit Free reviews the financial statements of the Selected Third Parties to verify that the required amounts are actually transferred to the Profit Free Organization to be assigned to Profit Free Selected Beneficiaries. 7. Only entities that strictly fulfill the "Profit Free" Code of Behaviour shall become "Selected Beneficiaries" and receive funding of their non-profit activities by the Profit Free Organization. The Selected Beneficiaries shall carry out annual audits of their financial statements and shall authorize the Profit Free Organization to review them to ensure that the funds handed over to them are applied in accordance to the "Profit Free" Code of Behaviour. |
