Description of Mark | The mark consists of a blue circular ring with a thin black outline, around which a yellow rope creates the outer boundary. A white circle appears between the blue ring and the yellow-rope design. The words "MARINE CORPS INSTALLATIONS COMMAND" appear in white within the blue circular ring and two white five-pointed stars separate the terms "MARINE" and "COMMAND" at the bottom of the blue ring. Within the blue circular ring is a white circle containing an emblem comprised of a gold, black and white eagle perched atop a black and white lined globe showing North and South America in gold with a thin black outline. A partially obscured gold and black anchor with a gold and black anchor line appears behind the globe design. The eagle is clutching a streamer in its beak. Beneath the emblem design is a horizontally-oriented cord of alternating gold and red colors. Beneath the cord is a shield, with four fields of red, separated by a gold zigzag lightning bolt pattern. At the center of the shield is a wheel-shaped circular design. The hub of the wheel is gold with a blue ring and has thirteen gold spokes connected to a larger gold rim of the wheel. A red background appears behind the spokes. A larger blue ring containing thirteen gold five-pointed stars encircles the wheel design. The blue ring encircling the wheel design also has a thin gold outline. Behind the shield are two crossed sabers. The saber with the hilt on the left is grey, gold and yellow with a thin black outline, while the saber with the hilt on the right is grey, gold, yellow and black with the saber blade having a thin black outline. A banner of gold and red containing the blue wording "EXCELLENCE IN INSTALLATIONS" appears beneath the shield design and is partially draped over the lower portions of the crossed sabers. |
