The lock mechanism is generally round with notches on the side that rests against the computer. The lock mechanism includes an additional round section for attachment of a security cable. The term "KENSINGTON" is engraved around the outside of the lock. The T-bar used to connect the lock to the computer, which is shown in dotted lines, is not claimed as a part of the mark. The key part of the mark has a generally oval handle with an open hole for attachment to a key ring and a design of a lock containing a stylized "K".
