One of the spikes starts on the left and vertically extends to the right in an upward fashion and the other spike starts on the right and extends to the left vertically in a downward fashion. Finally, with both of these spikes connected in this fashion, the inner outline, both above and below the mid-centerpoint, resembles the shape of a thumb.
