| Certification Mark Statement | The certification mark, as used or intended to be used by authorized organizations, certifies that the courier entity, delivery provider, logistics company, or healthcare transport organization has met the certifier’s established standards for operational competency, regulatory compliance, chain-of-custody integrity, safety management, and professional conduct required for the secure transport of healthcare-related materials.Accreditation is based on documented compliance with organizational-level requirements, including but not limited to:• Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditions of Participation (CoP) requirements for Verification of Competency and contracted service oversight• Joint Commission and DNV standards governing contracted services, transport processes, specimen integrity, infection-prevention measures, and chain-of-custody• Department of Transportation (DOT) hazardous materials and medical transport regulations• Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for exposure control, PPE, and workplace safety• HIPAA privacy and confidentiality protections applicable to transport of PHI-containing materials• U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) expectations and regulations governing the transport of medical devices, laboratory diagnostics, implant trays, biologics, drugs, human tissue, and regulated medical materials• CLIA requirements applicable to transport of laboratory specimens and diagnostic samples• State and local public health, pharmacy, laboratory, and tissue-bank regulations applicable to healthcare delivery and transport operations• Internal QMS and operational requirements, including chain-of-custody verification, temperature-control assurance, specimen integrity protection, documentation accuracy, transport staff competency programs, and digital/physical identity and credential verification systems used by the organizationAccreditation under this mark applies to organizations—including third-party logistics carriers, healthcare delivery companies, specialty medical couriers, pharmacy couriers, tissue couriers, laboratory couriers, medical device distributors, autonomous delivery systems, and contracted healthcare transport organizations—that deliver to, from, or operate within any healthcare facility or clinical environment.The mark certifies organizational-level compliance with the certifier’s standards for competency verification, chain-of-custody integrity, safety practices, regulatory alignment, healthcare-appropriate transport operations, and workforce competency validation. Individual employees or contractors of certified organizations are not themselves certified by this mark unless separately certified under the certifier’s individual competency programs.Any internal evaluation tiers, scoring systems, or performance levels used for quality-management purposes do not constitute separate certification marks.The applicant is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by CMS, FDA, DOT, OSHA, Joint Commission, DNV, or any government or regulatory authority. The mark certifies only compliance with standards created and maintained by the certifier.AMCO™ accreditation confirms that a courier organization is qualified to deliver to, from, or within healthcare facilities under the CMS Conditions of Participation, including §482.12(e) governing contracted services and competency verification. Hospitals may rely on AMCO™ accreditation as evidence that external carriers, suppliers, and delivery partners meet required standards for competency, chain-of-custody integrity, and safe handling of healthcare-regulated materials. |
